Callisto Media are a publisher in the US that approached me for a book cover that captured the magic of Black femininity for their daily journal A Year of Black Girl Magic by Eboni Morgan. Instead of using African patterns we decided to focus on themes of transformation, portals into a new world and magic with bold patterns and shapes that celebrate the power, wisdom and beauty within.
